Thing 10

I downloaded a Spanish language course from Netlibrary

Re: Our website. I would like to see more participation and interaction with our patrons and more information available in foreign languages.

Thing 9 - Google tools

Too many tools to really get a good look at in 1 hour. It would be better to focus one one at a time with an exercise to do on each one.

I did do a document on Google Doc and emailed it to the Hispanic Committee.

I think the calendar looks interesting the Blog product is great.

Lifehacker looks too technical for me.

Thing 8 - Wikis

Re: Radical trust : I have not used web 2.0 enough to know whether and how often radical trust is betrayed. It would be great if one could trust open communication and participation.

Re: Wikipedia : I have not used it enough to know much about it and whether it is trustworthy

Re: Use of Wikis for patrons and department: Can't think of any ways to use Wikis at this time.

Thing 7 - Podcasting

On the Library Success Wiki I found Stories for Kids from the Denver Public Library and Holocaust Memories of Aaron Elster from the Kankakee Public Library.

Stories and programs would make good podcasts for SPL too. Also we could do podcasts in Spanish and other languages explaining basic things about library service to people not familiar with public libraries.

On Learn Out Loud I found a Trying to Learn Spanish podcast and on Podcast Alley I found iPadre Catholic podcast

Thing six: Social bookmarking

The tags most useful for the library would probably be library, library2.0, books, and website

flickr

I think it would be good to post our library video on flickr when we get it done. Also some pictures of our ethnic programming and art exhibits

Thing 5: Flickr and photo sharing
