First impressions

I think we could use a suggestion blog on our SPL Website and on SkokieNet/SkokieTalk.
Patrons could post suggestions ( complaints, compliments, questions etc. ) about our library services etc on the SPL website suggestion blog and post suggestions about the website itself on the SPL Website suggestion blog and the SkokieNet suggestion blog.

We could respond to their suggestions and other patrons could see the responses and all previous suggestions and responses would also be seen.

Richard I think you told me about a library that did this and you thought it was very successful. Could you tell us more about it here.

BAK, I love the name of your blog! So clever. I look forward to reading your posts, and I hope you get a chance to look around at other staffers' blogs and comment on their posts too.

really great blog name :)

the library that publicizes patron suggestions on their website is ann arbor. here's a link to their "browse comments" page. basically, they allow people to submit comments, suggestions, and complaints via an online form. then they respond to the comment publicly on this page. transparency is the key here and i think it's a good thing for both the library and patrons. plus, it's just plain fascinating to read if you work in libraries.
